Report – Mountains on Stage Winter Edition 2017

42 cities including 4 new stages, 5 countries, 35,500 spectators for an incredible 10th edition!

Le Mans, Leeds, Liverpool & Southampton.

The report below traces the progress of the entire Mountains on Stage tour.

For this 10th edition, no less than 6 films have been discovered by the spectators of Mountains on Stage.

In the program, a lot of happiness with a great expedition in Chilean Patagonia led by a French team, happiness also in Greece, but also the commitment with steep skiing and freestyle skiing on the slopes of La Cluzas.

The evening began with a tribute to Ueli Steck, a huge mountaineer who had disappeared too early in the Himalayas on April 30, 2017. Ueli had conquered the audience of Mountains on Stage by his kindness and passion in the movie "We only walk once on the moon". Thank you for everything!

The second film, "Ya Mas" took us with the Snowmads to Greece for a road movie full of smiles and beautiful downhill powder.
Fabian Lensh and his team of Austrians ski Mount Parnassus and Mount Olympus, which prove to be great playgrounds for skiers!

To continue the show, we introduced a new discipline never shown at Mountains on Stage: freestyle skiing. In this excerpt from the film "This is home", the famous Candide Thovex passes the baton to the future generation in the person of Henry Sildaru, on the slopes of La Cluzas.

In the previous edition, we launched the category "Mountains on Stage Classic" to show you the best mountain films of the past. This time, we selected "Marco Etoile, shooting star", a film that highlights the snowboarder Marco Siffredi, his exploits but also his unique larger than lige personnality.

The evening continued with Sam Favret and Pica Herry, a skier and a snowboarder who ski the most beautiful slopes of the Mont-Blanc massif, with an impressive style and relaxation!

"Waking Dream" is a breath of fresh air and incredible powder!

The last film of the show took you to the confines of Chilean Patagonia where Antoine Moineville, Lise Billon, Jerome Sullivan and Martin Ellias made an incredible bet by trying to summit the "Riso Patron", a mountain deemed impossible!

Their presence on many cities of the tour allowed you a privileged exchange with the athletes of the film elected "Audience Reward" of this Winter Edition!
